Giving your baby loving attention helps new brain cells connect in ways that help your baby feel secure. This attention also makes sense of new ideas and information, and helps them grow a healthy body. By interacting with your baby, they are learning what is normal from you. You need to take care of yourself to make sure that your baby sees a happy and healthy role model. When they begin to babble, they like it when people talk back to them; this is a great time to play games with your baby, sing songs, or read simple, sturdy picture books.
